Kelly Taxter

Kelly Taxter is the Barnett and Annalee Newman Curator of Contemporary Art at The Jewish Museum. She has organized career surveys of Rachel Feinstein, Marc Camille Chaimowicz, and Isaac Mizrahi, large-scale thematic surveys including Unorthodox and Take Me Iām Yours, as well as focused projects with Laurie Simmons, Eva LeWitt, Vivian Suter, Alex Israel, Valeska Soares, and Chantal Joffe. Prior to joining The Jewish Museum, Taxter was consulting curator at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, in Ridgefield, Connecticut where she organized solo exhibitions of Robert Longo, Harry Dodge, and Martin Creed. Taxter was co-founder of Taxter & Spengemann Gallery in New York, which operated between 2003 and 2011. Taxter received an MA from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College and a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University.
