The Prem Krishnamurthy Papers, MSS.024, document a broad range of graphic design and publishing projects produced between 2004-2018 for museums, art galleries, artist collaborations, art fairs and biennials, cultural organizations and educational institutions. The collection also provides comprehensive documentation of curatorial projects produced at P!, the critically acclaimed exhibition and public programming space Krishnamurthy founded on New York’s Lower East Side. The files are organized in several major groups and include project files, financial records, a print archive, a collection of ephemera compiled by Krishnamurthy and representing influential design examples, and a portion of Krishnamurthy’s personal library. Prem Krishnamurthy is an award-winning graphic designer, curator, teacher and writer based in Berlin and New York City. He was founding principle of the design firm Project Projects (2004-2017), founder and director of P!, the well-respected kunsthalle-style storefront gallery which operated from 2012-2017. Krishnamurthy’s practices transcend the conventional boundaries of curatorial practice, exhibition-making, and graphic design.
