Collection Summary

Gallery records for the Massimo Audiello Gallery, which first opened in the East Village on East 11th Street in New York City in 1985 and moved to Greene Street in Soho in 1987. Audiello closed the gallery in 1991 to focus on his work in theater and performance. He reopened the gallery in Chelsea in 1998. It closed in 2010 when he moved to Mexico City.

The archive includes photo documentation of exhibitions and artworks along with correspondence and some business records. Artists documented in these files include: McDermott and McGough, Jonathan Lasker, Angela Bulloch, Christian Marclay, Moyra Davey, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Franceso Clemente, Louise Bourgeois, Federico Guzman, Pepe Espaliu, Javier Baldeon, and Thom Merrick.
