Collection Summary

Gavin Brown’s enterprise was a contemporary art gallery founded by Gavin Brown in 1994 that had venues in New York City and Rome. The gallery closed in 2020 when it merged with Gladstone Gallery. Contents include extensive exhibition, artist, and project files, press and publicity, exhibition and art fair guest books, and publications. Some of the artists who have been represented by Gavin Brown’s enterprise include: Martin Creed, Jeremy Deller, Peter Doig, Urs Fischer, Jonathan Horowitz, Arthur Jafa, Joan Jonas, Alex Katz, Christopher Knowles, Mark Leckey, Bjarne Melgaard, Laura Owens, Oliver Payne and Nick Relph, Elizabeth Peyton, Steven Pippin, Rob Pruitt, Rachel Rose, Steven Shearer, Avery Singer, Frances Stark, Elaine Sturtevant, Rirkrit Tiravanija, and Piotr Uklański, to name a few.
