Artist Jenny Perlin will present three films at CCS Bard on Tuesday, April 17. Rooted in her research on historical and archival materials, this selection of films highlights Perlin’s different strategies toward animating and processing the past through film. The screening will be followed by a conversation with the artist.
Jenny Perlin (b. 1970) has exhibited and screened work internationally at venues including Artists Space, New York; Kunsthalle Wien; LAXART, Los Angeles; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Rotterdam International Film Festival; the Toronto Film Festival; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
The screening is presented in conjunction with the group exhibition So long ago it feels like a memory of someone else, curated by second-year graduate student Andrew Hibbard, which features drawings by Perlin. The exhibition is on view at the Hessel Museum of Art from April 8 to May 27, 2018.
