Maryam Jafri is an artist working in diverse media, with a specific interest in questioning the cultural and visual representation of history, politics, and economy. She has exhibited extensively, including solo presentations at Bétonsalon, Paris; Gasworks, London; and Kunsthalle Basel. Upcoming solos shows for 2016 include P! Projects, NYC, and Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane. Later this year, her work will be on view at the Sao Paulo biennial. She holds a BA in English & American Literature from Brown University, a Masters from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU and is a graduate of the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program. She lives and works in New York and Copenhagen.
