David J. Getsy  is the Goldabelle McComb Finn Distinguished Professor of Art History and Interim Dean of Graduate Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  He has published seven books, including Abstract Bodies: Sixties Sculpture in the Expanded Field of Gender (Yale University Press, 2015), Scott Burton: Collected Writings on Art and Performance, 1965-1975 (Soberscove Press, 2012), and Queer (MIT Press, 2016).  His current research focuses on transgender and queer themes in contemporary art, and he has published essays on artists such as Carlos Motta, Jonah Groeneboer, Kehinde Wiley, Cassils, Catherine Opie, Amber Hawk Swanson, and Ernesto Pujol.
